Travel India India Trip for the first timers starts from Delhi that is the capital city in India that consists two parts one is Mughal capital of India known as Old Delhi and other is British capital know as New Delhi or Lutyen’s Delhi today. Lutyen was the chief architect who designed the erstwhile British capital when the capital city was shifted from Kolkata. Old Delhi consists mosques, Red Fort, spice market and colorful bazaars including the most famous Chandni Chowk. New Delhi consists modern skyscrapers, government buildings, President’s House, Parliament House and India Gate etc. Then visit Varanasi, the ancient holy city in India that consists holy Ganges and devotees performing unique religious rituals at world famous Ghats. Next destination is Khajuraho that consists 10-century magnificent temples with exquisitely carved erotic sculptures. Then comes Agra, where India’s most famous landmark, the Taj Mahal exists. Now the last city comes Jaipur that is known as “Pink City” because of color of its old buildings that attracts many international tourists from world over. You may opt for fruitful extension visiting the romantic city of Udaipur known for its history, culture and ambience.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Delhi: Assistance upon arrival at Delhi International airport after clearing customs and immigration then transfer to your hotel for check-in. There is overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 2: In Delhi: Today morning after breakfast enjoy full day guided city tour of Old and New Delhi. The trip starts from Old Delhi visiting Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Spice market and Chandni Chowk “Moonlit Street,” that is Old Delhi’s main street and colorful shopping bazaar. After that you will be driven to see Raj Ghat, the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi then to New Delhi visiting Humayun’s Tomb, the precursor of the Taj Mahal; president’s house, Rajpath “the Kingsway,” passing the India Gate (the memorial built on behalf of the unknown soldiers) and Parliament. After that visit Birla Mandir, a modern and colorful Hindu temple. Evening at leisure to see local bazaar. There is overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 3: Delhi – Varanasi: Today morning you will be transferred to the Delhi airport for your flight to Varanasi. Assistance upon arrival in Varanasi then transfer to hotel for check-in. This afternoon, enjoy a half-day tour of one of the holiest cities in India; Varanasi is the ancient living city in the world. Later, visit the Bharat Mata Temple, to see the big relief map of India in marble then visit to Banaras Hindu University to see its art gallery and the mosque of Mughal Emperor Aurangazeb built on the side of an ancient Hindu Temple. There is overnight stay in Varanasi.

Day 4: Varanasi – Khajuraho: Today after breakfast, early morning boats ride on holy river Ganges to see Hindu devotees on the river bank who pray to the Sun God. After that you will be transferred to the airport to board flight to Khajuraho. Assistance upon arrival then transfer to your hotel. This afternoon, enjoy a half-day tour of Khajuraho to see world famous magnificent temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and the Jain saints. The most important are the Chausath Yogini Temple dedicated to Goddess Kali, the Mahadev Temple, and the Chitragupta Temple with an 11-headed statue of Vishnu depicting his ten incarnations. There is overnight stay in Khajuraho.

Day 5: Khajuraho – Orchha – Jhansi – Agra: Today morning after breakfast visit Orchha, the former capital of the Bundelas. Orchha is now a small village, set among a wonderful complex of well-preserved palaces and temples. After that transfer to Jhansi Railway station to board train to Agra. Assistance upon arrival in Agra then transfer to the hotel for check in and overnight stay.

Day 6: In Agra: Today you will have a leisurely morning breakfast. In the afternoon enjoy guided half-day tour of the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Itimad Ud Daulah etc. Take a battery-operated bus from the nearest parking to the Taj Mahal. Enjoy this world famous garden monument that become the symbol of eternal love worldwide. Your next visit after Taj would be Agra Fort, seat of the Mughal dynasty in the 16th century, lies on the bend of the River Yamuna located in the heart of town. It is built of red sandstone. Finally visit Tomb of Itimad Ud Daulah, known as “Baby Taj” also that was built by Empress Noor Jahan in memory of her father, Ghiyas Beg, who was also the Chief Minister in the Court of Mughal Emperor Jahangir. There is overnight stay in Agra.

Day 7: Agra – Jaipur: Today morning after breakfast transfer to Jaipur, visiting Fatehpur Sikri on the way. Emperor Akbar built this in the 16th century that had to be abandoned 13 years later for want of water. Having arrived in Jaipur, check into the hotel and relaxation for the rest of the day. Jaipur is an important, colorful and most happening city that is also called “Pink City,” because its buildings are painted in pink. Jaipur is one of India’s most well planned cities. There is overnight stay in Jaipur.

Day 8: In Jaipur: This morning after breakfast half-day excursion to the Amber Fort. Experience the majesty of a bygone era, riding on the back of beautifully decorated elephants. In Jaipur City, visit the Hawa Mahal or “Palace of Winds,” one of the major landmarks of Jaipur then visit City Palace, located in the heart of the old city, is a large complex of courtyards, buildings, and gardens, and also houses an interesting museum. Also visit the adjacent Jantar Mantar, the ancient astronomical observatory built by Raja Jai Singh. There is overnight stay in Jaipur.

Day 09: Jaipur – Delhi: Today enjoy your leisurely breakfast then transfer to the Jaipur airport to board your flight to Delhi. Assistance upon arrival in Delhi airport then transfer to the International airport as per the flight schedule to board flight back home.
